Ambernay's Microbiome Priming Essence (in development) is formulated around supporting a balanced surface environment — correct pH, a hospitable substrate for the skin's existing microbial community — rather than around any single postbiotic ingredient claim. We treat this category with particular caution given the comparatively early stage of independent research relative to other ingredient categories on this page.
Where the evidence stands
Published research on postbiotic and microbiome-supportive cosmetic ingredients has grown substantially in recent years but remains smaller in volume and consensus than research on established actives such as niacinamide, glycerin or UV filters. Ambernay treats this as an evolving category — formulation decisions are revisited as new published research becomes available.
What we do not claim
We do not claim that any Ambernay product treats, rebalances or cures any microbiome-related condition. We do not claim our postbiotic-containing formulas have been validated by microbiome sequencing studies unless we explicitly state otherwise with supporting data. This is an area where we deliberately under-claim relative to common industry marketing language.
